With an initial education in fine art, followed by a six years course in architecture and urban studies at the UAUIM de Bucharest, Stefania Kenley is a research based visual artist. Between 1991 and 2001 she had practiced and taught architecture project in London and theory of art and architecture in Paris. In 2005, she obtained a PhD from the University of Paris 8, with the thesis “Du Pastiche à l’original, traces et trajectoires de l’Independent Group (1952-1956)” and wrote a number of essays, articles and two books for which she created an original iconography – Lightness (2014) and Du Fictif au réel (2016) – publications addressed real situations, often taking on a critical stance.
